CURATED LIST:
GRANTS & RESIDENCIES FOR WOMEN VISUAL ARTISTS
RESIDENCIES
Residencies provide artists in various stages of their careers with an opportunity to dedicate themselves whole heartedly to their practice in a supportive and structured creative environment. These opportunities are especially crucial for women artists, who are 1) relegated to the margins of opportunities in the art world due to gender-based discrimination and 2) often find themselves occupying caregiving roles in their families and communities at large. Find below a curated list of grants and residency opportunities specifically created for women visual artists. Here you will also find information about residency opportunities for artist-parents/ caregivers. Click on each title to be directed to each residency program’s website for more information about a specific opportunity. NOTE: The opportunities below accompanied by an asterix (*) provide a stipend to support childcare costs at artists’ home-base.
